Start small now — not stressed later.
I’m a mum of two and a former 11+ materials editor. I didn’t want Year 5 to be the moment everything suddenly became serious and stressful, so I built a calm weekly programme that brings 11+ style thinking into everyday life — gently, at home.
Why I started this — as a mum
In many families, 11+ preparation begins suddenly in Year 5. The work gets harder, time feels tighter, and both parents and children feel the pressure all at once.
I didn’t want that to be my child’s first experience of studying. So when he reached Year 3, we started small — just a little time each day, no pressure.
My daughter is still very young. She can’t do the work yet, but when her brother sits down to study, she pulls up a chair and says, “Me too.”
That’s when it clicked for me:
Studying is a habit. Reading is a habit. Confidence is a habit.
Who I am
I spent over nine years in an 11+ tuition centre, working on everything from editing books to developing full sets of mock-style materials.
I’m a parent first. My son is in Year 3, my daughter is in Year 1. These packs were created for them before they were shared with anyone else.
Content is shaped with classroom insight, ensuring it feels clear, age-appropriate, and realistic for real homes.
What I believe
I don’t believe in starting with pressure. I believe in helping children grow familiar with thinking, problem-solving, and focus over time.
